Claire’s Toddler Room (Part II): A take on another’s wallpaper template.
11October 11, 2012 by Decorum DIYer
Here is one of my first posts. I was so excited to share my newly stenciled wall that I just neglected to share anything else. I hope you enjoy!
Just a little slideshow to show you how I transformed a plain, lavender wall into a beautiful, hand-painted trellis design using a blog tutorial and template.
I recently saw a beautiful, hand-painted wallpaper tutorial at this blog (click here to go to the blog for tutorial and FREE TEMPLATE) and thought I could probably do the same. Using the template provide in the aforementioned site, I decided to paint a feature wall in my toddler daughter’s room. I tweaked the design a bit to make it less formal and fussy for a one year old. I really like the effect and can not thank Jones Design Company enough for her wonderful idea, online tutorial, and printable template. I apologize for the crudeness of this post, but I am relatively new to this whole blogging thing. I can’t wait to share the finished room. Hopefully I will be better at blogging by then.

I love how this wall turned out, and I know how much back-breaking work it was. I think it’s time for an update now that the little one has moved in!
Thanks, Erin. I am really trying here. I think your push to make me move to a blog from facebook has created a monster. I assume that by ‘update’ you mean current photographs of the room, and not a change? I’ll update soon, but right now I am busy as a bee.
Haha- no I did not mean a change to the wall. It’s perfect as is. You did such a nice job with Claire’s room that I figured it was worth sharing.
I agree with Erin, I love this wall. I also really enjoyed the step-by-step commentary you provided on FB, and I’m sure your new blog followers would as well.
[…] future on that entire transformation. I’ve already shared the hand-painted stencil wall here. Part of the process was to furnish my daughter’s room with budget-friendly, space-saving […]
It looks great! I love the moroccan pattern. I redid some chairs with that pattern for the back. It’s definitely a huge impact!

Why thank you, my dear. Your blog is lovely. I appreciate you stopping by to say some kind, encouraging words.
Wow. I used a stencil and thought it was some work. I can’t imagine actually doing it by hand. You did a great job!
Thank you. It was definitely a labor of love. It was made more difficult doing while seven months pregnant. I asked my husband to paint the last row in the far right corner. I just couldn’t contort my huge belly and body far enough into the corner to paint with a steady hand. I love the way it turned out. It took a lot of patience, but well worth it!
I love this!! Thx for sharing the free stencil 🙂
I love this! That for sharing the free stencil template!!
