Grin and Behr It!

July 18, 2012 by Decorum DIYer

Well, if you know me, you know I love to paint.  I find it therapeutic, like coloring with crayons (which I also still do).  I have tried many a different brand of paint over the course of decorating my two homes and many other paint projects for friends and family.  I make it no secret that my favorite paint brand is Behr paint.  No, they didn’t ask me to say that or pay me to say that (I wish).  Behr is available at Home Depot (easy enough) and they have a wonderfully intuitive online paint tool.  Many paint brands have a similar online tools these days, but I find Behr’s the easiest to use.

Behr’s Color Stories – share your Color Story

I have shared several of my painting projects on Behr’s website via their ‘Color Stories’ series.  If you are interested in the names of the colors I have used in my home (those that are Behr anyway) check it out!  Also, if you have used Behr paint products and would like to share, go ahead, what is stopping you?  Often Behr will even offer prizes (vouchers for more Behr paint or Home Depot gift card, of course) to the users that upload a color story.

Here are the paint projects I have uploaded to Behr’s Color Stories series:

Summer Lovin’ (my screened porch)

For More Than Just Walls (my daughter’s stenciled wall)

Paint Plus Primer Saves The Day (my daughter’s toddler room)

Tri-Color Little Boy’s Room (my son’s transitional room from toddler to kindergartener)

Updating A Tiny Room With A Tiny Budget (my smallest bedroom that has been reincarnated as an office, a girl’s nursery, and a boy’s nursery all using the same paint scheme)

Just wanted to qualify my vote … our preferred brand of paint is Valspar from Lowes, but we’ve experienced bad customer service from the nearest location, preventing us from shopping there anymore. We also happen to live in between 2 different Home Depots – within mere miles of each other – one of which we receive exceptional customer service. For this reason, we now shop at HD nearly exclusively … and our second favorite paint brand is Behr. More info. than you probably needed or cared to know, but I thought I’d let you know 🙂

  2. Love Behr. And I am glad to know I am not the only person that leaves Home Depot with 60 paint squares. 🙂

Thanks, Jane. I sometimes leave with a handful. Mostly though, I go with my gut and just buy the gallon or two on the spot. I have learned the hard way not to over analyze my color choices. (My recent master bedroom orange paint fiasco in my current home.)
